Olympic gold medalist and cancer survivor Scott Hamilton addressed nearly 400 guests at the 12th annual Bethesda LYCEUM on May 1, 2013 at the Duke Energy Convention Center. Hamilton shared his inspirational message of perseverance and the power of a positive attitude. Presented by the Auxiliary of Bethesda Hospital and Local 12 WKRC, proceeds from this year's event will support the TriHealth Cancer Institute (TCI) at Bethesda North Hospital. The TCI provides comprehensive, innovative cancer care through an interdisciplinary approach. Caring for cancer patients requires expert physicians and staff to fight disease with the most advanced techniques and technology available, while meeting the individual physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each patient and their family.
The Bethesda LYCEUM speaker series brings prominent public figures to Cincinnati to offer their unique perspectives. Past speakers have included Lt. Col. Oliver North, deep-sea explorer Dr. Robert Ballard, astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell and former Secretary of State Gen. Colin Powell. Since 2002, more than $2 million has been raised to support Bethesda North Hospital.
If you would like to be added to the invitation list for next year's event, please contact Kimberly Best at 513-865-1621.
