Combining foreign policy and international media experience, Christiane Amanpour and James R. Rubin will take the stage at the 7th annual Bethesda LYCEUM on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. Amanpour is CNN's chief international correspondent and Rubin has held numerous positions and appointments in Washington. This dynamic husband and wife team will offer a non-partisan perspective on "America and the World." Following their remarks, Amanpour and Rubin will also participate in a question-and-answer forum.
Proceeds from the 2008 event will benefit the Bethesda North Hospital Special Care Nursery. Bethesda Foundation has made a commitment to raise charitable gifts to help support the equipment needs of a special care nursery that optimizes growth and development of Bethesda's smallest patients. This nursery will take our care to the next level by providing private rooms with a developmentally appropriate and individualized environment for premature babies. Individual tickets are $400 and sponsorships are available. A portion of your donation is tax-deductible.
Since 2002, the Bethesda LYCEUM has brought national leaders to Cincinnati to offer unique insight into current events affecting our country. Past LYCEUM speakers have included former Secretary of State James A. Baker, III, broadcast journalist Tom Brokaw, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, retired Gen. Tommy R. Franks, former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and former first lady Barbara Bush.
