Bethesda Foundation Wish List Paramedics
know that every minute counts when saving a life. Bethesda knows the importance
of supplying Greater Cincinnati licensed paramedics who can administer advanced,
split-second medical care. Since 1994, Bethesda donors have primarily funded the
program, which is widely recognized as one of the most successful in the state.
Almost 50 percent of Hamilton County's licensed paramedics are Bethesda-trained.
- On a daily basis, Foundation-funded behavioral health clinicians
identify problems and issues so that children receive intervention when intervention
is needed most. This extra help can mean the difference between success and failure
in the classroom and, potentially, success in life.
- When the
celebration of life becomes difficult, Hospice of Cincinnati steps in to provide
dignified, condition-oriented care for the terminally ill and their families.
Through symptom management as well as emotional and spiritual support, Hospice
helps patients live full lives until they die. A variety of support opportunities
exist:
- Bereavement Services
- Patient
Distress Fund (for the uninsured and underinsured)
- Endowment
- Special
Patient Services Fund (pastoral care and holistic comfort services)
- Students get the support they need to obtain a degree
and gain meaningful work through the Bethesda Scholars Program, supported by Bethesda
donors and offered in partnership with Cincinnati State Technical and Community
College. Targeted toward unemployed or underemployed people, the program helps
students ease the financial, social and personal barriers of continuing their
education.
