Dinner guests bid on fabulous silent auction packages like vacation getaways, artwork and sports memorabilia.
TriHealth presented the 10th annual Hospice of Cincinnati Summertime Classic on May 22 and 23 to benefit Fernside, the children’s bereavement program at Hospice of Cincinnati. The two-day event featured a dinner, various auctions and a golf outing, raising more than $100,000 in direct support.
Fernside provides a safe place where grieving children and their families come together with peers to share their stories, feelings, memories and thoughts about their futures. Fernside’s peer support groups, camp programs and community outreach services are offered free of charge.

Serving as event chair was Fernside alum Stacey Meyer, fine wine manager for Heidelberg Distributing Company, and as honorary chair, L. Thomas Wilburn, former TriHealth president and CEO.
The first day of the Classic hosted more than 330 guests for an outstanding dinner, silent auction and live auction. The newest attraction to this year’s event was a balloon auction led by Jay Karp of Main Auction Galleries. Special guest 16-year-old Katie Pellegrini captivated the crowd with her personal story of how Fernside helped her heal after her father’s death.
Day two of the Classic hosted 207 guests for the annual golf scramble. Despite stormy weather all week, the Classic was blessed with enough sunshine for everyone to finish their round of golf.
