Lifetime Giving Societies

The Bethesda Foundation gratefully acknowledges the cumulative lifetime giving of our most generous friends through society membership.

Golder Society ($100,000 or more)

Dr. Christian Golder, an ordained Methodist Episcopal minister, and his sister Louise Golder, a Methodist Deaconess, founded the Bethesda Hospital and Deaconess Association in 1896. Trained in Europe's greatest deaconess institutions, the Golders and six German-speaking deaconesses combined compassion with the most advanced medical technology of the day.

S.R. Geiser MD Society ($50,000 - $99,000)

S.R. Geiser MD served as Bethesda's first chief of staff from 1898 to 1923. Noted as a brilliant diagnostician, Dr. Geiser's leadership contributed greatly toward building the reputation and character of Bethesda.

Daniel J. Davies MD Society ($25,000 to $49,999)

Daniel J. Davies MD delivered more than 10,000 babies during his career at Bethesda and foreshadowed Bethesda's reputation for quality care as Cincinnati's Birthplace.

Bethesdan Society ($10,000 - $24,999)

Established by the Bethesda Foundation in 1976 to recognize the generosity of special friends, this inaugural level recognizes sustained support of Bethesda. Society members help Bethesda combine state-of-the-art medical technology with the compassionate touch of healing hands.
